Saim Ayub & Hasan Nawaz Rain Sixes as Pakistan Crush UAE for Second Win in Tri-Series

Pakistan’s young guns Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz lit up Sharjah with a six-hitting show, smashing 10 maximums between them to power their team to a massive 207. Their fireworks set up a 31-run win over UAE, giving Pakistan two wins in two matches as they gear up for the Asia Cup.

UAE, however, didn’t go down without a fight, putting up 176/8 in reply, thanks to a stunning counterattack from Asif Khan.

Pakistan’s batting blitz

Skipper Salman Agha once again chose to bat first, but the start wasn’t smooth with Sahibzada Farhan falling in the opening over. That’s when Ayub and Fakhar Zaman took charge, tearing into Junaid Siddique for 22 runs in the third over.

Haider Ali hit back by removing Zaman in the fourth over, but Ayub continued the assault. By the end of the PowerPlay, Pakistan were 51/2. After Agha’s dismissal in the eighth over, Ayub kept the scoreboard racing, joined by Hasan Nawaz, as Pakistan reached 93/3 at the halfway mark.

Ayub finally fell for a blistering 38-ball 69 in the 12th over, but Hasan took over with an explosive 26-ball 56, which included six towering sixes and back-to-back maximums off Haider Ali. Together with Mohammad Nawaz, he added 57 runs in just 25 balls.

Despite some late breakthroughs from UAE’s Saghir Khan and Junaid Siddique, Pakistan crossed the 200-run mark with ease, finishing at 207. Both Saghir and Siddique grabbed three wickets each but were expensive, leaking plenty of runs.

UAE’s spirited chase led by Asif Khan

UAE started their chase aggressively through Muhammad Waseem, who raced to 33 off 18 before being run out. Early wickets pegged them back at 54/3, and soon 76/5, but then came the big fightback.

Asif Khan, joined by Dhruv Parashar, launched a thrilling counterattack. With 122 runs needed from just 42 balls, Asif went berserk—hammering Sufiyan Muqeem and Hasan Ali for sixes and fours. He smacked 77 off just 35 balls, with six fours and six sixes, almost single-handedly keeping UAE in the game.

But his dismissal in the final over sealed Pakistan’s victory. Hasan Ali held his nerve at the death, picking up wickets and ensuring UAE fell short by 31 runs.

With two back-to-back wins, Pakistan look well-prepared for the Asia Cup, while UAE will take positives from their fearless batting effort.
