Volkswagen India has announced major price cuts across its lineup following the implementation of the revised GST rates, commonly being referred to as GST 2.0. The new prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, just ahead of the festive season. The announcement comes shortly after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed the updated GST structure during the council meeting.
Under the revised tax structure, Volkswagen’s popular models Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan R-Line are set to become more affordable, with price reductions going up to Rs 3.27 lakh. In addition to the GST-linked cuts, the company is also offering attractive limited-time benefits for customers who book their cars before September 21, 2025. These include savings of up to Rs 1.61 lakh on the Virtus, Rs 2.5 lakh on the Taigun, and Rs 3 lakh on the Tiguan R-Line.
Model-wise, the Volkswagen Virtus, the only sedan in the brand’s current portfolio, has received a GST-related price cut of Rs 66,900. The Taigun SUV gets a reduction of Rs 68,400. The biggest benefit is on the Tiguan R-Line, which now becomes cheaper by a massive Rs 3,26,900 under GST 2.0.
Volkswagen’s announcement follows a similar move by Skoda Auto India, which is also passing on GST benefits to its customers. The Skoda Kushaq is now cheaper by up to Rs 66,000, with an additional limited-time discount of Rs 2.5 lakh available until September 21. Similarly, the Skoda Slavia sedan gets a GST-linked benefit of up to Rs 63,000 along with discounts of up to Rs 1.2 lakh. As of now, the Kushaq is priced from Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Slavia starts at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
With these price reductions and limited-time offers, Volkswagen and Skoda are aiming to attract more buyers in the run-up to the festive season, making their cars far more appealing in the competitive mid-size sedan and SUV market.
