TVS Ntorq 150 Review: Price, Specs, Performance and First Ride Impressions

TVS Ntorq 150 Mileage, Top Speed and Handling

TVS Motor Company has taken a bold step by entering the 150cc scooter segment with the brand-new TVS Ntorq 150. Unlike maxi-scooters, the Ntorq 150 combines the sporty styling of a 125cc scooter with the heart of a 150cc machine. Positioned as a “hyper sport” scooter, it aims to strike a balance between style, performance, and affordability. Here’s our first ride review.

Engine and Performance

The Ntorq 150 is powered by a reworked version of the Ntorq 125’s motor. It gets a 149.7cc, 3-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with an oil cooler, producing 13.2 hp and 14.2 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a CVT unit.

Acceleration is smooth, with the scooter clocking 0–60 kmph in just 6.3 seconds. It can comfortably cruise at 60–80 kmph, though reaching 100 kmph requires some effort. Vibrations are well-controlled, creeping in only near triple-digit speeds. The deep exhaust note adds character and appeal, something TVS scooters are known for.

Chassis, Brakes and Safety

The Ntorq 150 may be bigger than the Ntorq 125, but it doesn’t enter maxi-scooter territory. Both scooters share several components like the 12-inch wheels, suspension setup, and frame (reworked for better stiffness).

For safety, the Ntorq 150 is equipped with single-channel ABS and traction control, making it a safer ride compared to many scooters in its class.

TVS Ntorq 150: Ride and Handling

Despite its larger size, the Ntorq 150 feels fairly agile in traffic. It may not be as nimble as the 125cc sibling but remains manageable in city conditions. The suspension setup leans on the firmer side, offering a sporty ride. However, a full city test will give a clearer picture of ride comfort.

Ergonomics and Practicality

The scooter offers 22 litres of under-seat storage, a convenient front apron pocket, and a seat height of 770 mm. At 115 kg, the Ntorq 150 is light enough to handle, even for shorter riders. The seat is wide and comfortable, though the floorboard space could have been better.

Design and Features

Inspired by the Graphite concept, the Ntorq 150 features sharp, aggressive styling. It comes in four sporty colour options and looks slightly front-heavy. The twin-barrel LED projector headlamps should provide excellent illumination at night.

The top-end variant gets a full-colour TFT screen with advanced connectivity and navigation features, taking the digital experience up a notch.

TVS Ntorq 150: Price and Verdict

Pricing plays a key role, and TVS seems to have nailed it. The Ntorq 150 is priced between Rs 1.19 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160.

With its sporty looks, peppy engine, safety features, and competitive pricing, the TVS Ntorq 150 successfully carves a new segment in the Indian scooter market. It offers the fun of a 150cc scooter without breaking the bank.
